Safety First at Gemini

Safety at Gemini has always been our highest priority just edging out fun. We will be following IDPH & the CDC’s guidelines in an effort to provide the safest possible environment for students, families & staff.

General Health

  1. All Gemini staff will wear face coverings over their nose and mouth when within 6-feet of others. Exceptions may be made where accommodations are appropriate – see IDHR’s guidance.
  2. Social distance of at least 6-feet will be maintained between non-household individuals unless participating in activities permitted under Phase III guidelines.
  3. Gemini will provide hand washing capability or sanitizer to employees and if applicable, to clients.
  4. Frequent hand sanitization will occur for Gemini staff and students will sanitize both hands & feet at each station.
  5. All mats will be disinfected before/after each class using only CDC approved cleaning products that are on the EPA’s List of Disinfectants for Use Against SARS-CoV-2, the cause of COVID-19 and are proven to kill 99.9% of bacteria & viruses.

Client/Student Behaviors

  1. Activity sessions held by appointment only (e.g. no walk-ins, no make-up classes).
  2. Participants should bring their own source of water to drink & use the bathroom at home prior to arriving.
  3. Student participants will have a no-touch scan temperature check upon arrival. Anyone with a temperature at or above 100.4° will not be permitted to remain on site.
  4. Before participating in class, instructors will ask whether the student is currently exhibiting COVID-19 symptoms. If a participant does have symptoms, they should wait to enter premises until they have had no fever for at least 72 hours, other symptoms have improved, and at least 10 days have passed since their symptoms first appeared, and after afebrile and feeling well (without fever-reducing medication) for at least 72 hours OR has 2 negative COVID-19 tests in a row, with testing done at least 24 hours apart.
  5. Students will use hand sanitizer before, during, and after participation. Those unable to use hand sanitizer will wash with soap and water for 20 seconds.
  6. Students will place personal belongings at least 6-feet away from others’ personal belongings in marked areas.
  7. No handshakes, high fives, fist bumps, or receipt of stamps will be given.
  8. Spectators are not permitted unless required for parental supervision. Non-household members must maintain physical distance from participants and from one another.

Health Monitoring of Staff

  1. Gemini staff will have a no-touch scan temperature check upon arrival for the start of each shift. Any staff with a temperature at or above 100.4° will not be permitted to remain on site.
  2. All staff will participate in a wellness screening program that is conducted in-person to verify no presence of COVID-19.
  3. We will post information about the symptoms of COVID-19 in order to allow employees to self-assess whether they have any symptoms and should consider going home.
  4. If a staff member does contract COVID-19, they will remain isolated at home for a minimum of 10 days after symptom onset and can be released after feverless and feeling well (without fever-reducing medication) for at least 72 hours OR has 2 negative COVID-19 tests in a row, with testing done at least 24 hours apart.
  5. Any staff member who has had close contact* with a co-worker or any other person who is diagnosed with COVID-19 will quarantine for 14 days after the last/most recent contact with the infectious individual and should seek a COVID-19 test at a state or local government testing center, healthcare center or other testing locations. All other staff should be on alert for symptoms of fever, cough, or shortness of breath and taking temperature if symptoms develop.

*Close contacts include household contacts, intimate contacts, or contacts within 6-feet for 15 minutes or longer unless wearing an N95 mask during periods of contact.

Physical Workspace

  1. Activities (e.g. practices, drills, lessons) will be set up to allow for 6-feet of distance between participants.
  2. Any activities that do not allow for 6-feet of distance will be suspended.
  3. When stations are used for individual recreation activities, we will ensure at least 10-feet between stations. If stations cannot be moved, we will limit the number of open stations to ensure social distancing.
  4. Gemini will display visual markers 6-feet apart at any queue points (e.g. check-in, along sidelines).
  5. An area separate from others will be designated for anyone who exhibits COVID-like symptoms during the activity session to isolate from others before being picked up to leave.
